Producing a high quality sketchbook is expensive and would not be possible without all of your so THANKS to everyone who is supporting us and our biggest way of saying thanks is by giving the earliest backers the best price.  That price was at or below cost estimated for 250 backers. 

We are currently at over 500 backers -- WOW.  We are still a little stunned and can't thank you guys enough for your support of this project.

Estimated costs for 500 backers / $40,000:

Kickstarter + Credit Card Fees = 8% + .20 per pledge (that's right, $3,300)

Printing both sketchbooks = $20,000 (working on getting this number down while keeping printing inside the US or Canada)

Quality shipping/packing supplies for 500 packages = $2,000

Shipping costs = $5,000

TShirt Printing = $6,000

Prints, Posters, Bookmarks, Postcards = $1,500

Other extras (Backpack, USB, Coin, Notebook Set) $6,000

BIRTHDAY INCENTIVE - NEXUS FAMILY PORTRAIT

We've been asked to include the Nexus Family Portrait in a smaller goal.  So here it is:

Anyone who pledges by 11:59 pm PST May 19th will receive the Nexus Family Portrait in their free prints.  If they upgrade the print will be included at the upgraded size.

Thank you for all your support!  We are nearing the end of week 2 - CHALLENGE WEEK.  Your challenge should you choose to accept it...  

CHALLENGE FOR THIS WEEK:

Get to the Challenge Coin!  As an added bonus Steve asked to reprint the Nexus Family Portrait.  If we reach $40,000 by end of Challenge Week (Sunday, May 17, 11:59 pm PST), an 8x10 print will be included with all extra levels.  

CHALLENGE COIN

The challenge coin is in design - Steve's signature and 2015-20 Sketchbook on 1 side and working on Nexus or the logo on the other side.  Coin will be embossed, not printed.  It's looking pretty epic.

BIRTHDAY CHALLENGE: 50 - 50 -50

Princess Gino is turning 50 on Tuesday, May 19th.  If we can hit $50,000 for her 50th birthday, we will do an extended set of 50 5x7 postcards PLUS Steve will include an extra 5 Quick Sketches when we hit 1,000 backers.

You only have a few days to meet this goal.  Are you up for the challenge?

The Good, The Bad, and The Challenge

The Good

We’ve nearly reached our $30,000 goal to print the special Spiderman Booklet!  We’ve never done a sketch goal book before and we’re excited to be putting this book together.

The Bad

The bad news... it was a valiant try, but we did not make our $40,000 goal before midnight so no postcards and no 1/50 quick sketches

The Challenge

Since we named this the Challenge week and you’ve already blown our challenges out of the water we’ve decided to change the goal...

1,000 backers before the challenge period ends.  

Team Rude decided that we'd rather have backers as a goal over money, so we've switched our goal to 1,000 backers to do those free sketches.  

What do we get when we hit 1,000 backers? We will do a limited printing ONLY for the first 1,000 backers.  All mailed levels for those backers will receive a limited postcard set including at least 1 sticker AND Steve will do 10 sketches to randomly include with the sets.  We're putting together the set now so STAY TUNED for images.

STILL ADDING PAGES

We will continue to add 8 pages for every $5,000 raised,  The backers decide how big or small the book will be.  Personally, we’d like to put out a 250 page book with a hardcover option and an entire section of just pages from Steve’s sketchbook, but that’s up to you.  So onward!

Thanks to everyone who has contributrd over the past 2 days we were funded and passed our $15k, $20k and now our $25k goals!

We are now in the home stretch of our biggest goal ... an additonal sketchbook devoted to Steves’ Spiderman art over the years with an intro by John Romita, Sr himself

Stunned, Amazed, Thankful - Live

It's a rare occasion that Steve Rude is speechless.  Telling him that we are over 200% funded on day 2 left him stunned.  We have only $8,500 left to make our $30k goal and print a 2nd book and add yet more pages to his 2015-20 sketchbook.

We tried to set up this campaign so everyone wins.  Digital and sketchbook only backers receive more pages and a 2nd book.  Everyone else gets that plus cool exclusives.  We've also set up the first 3 days as a special thank you to our early backers - this is as close to cost as I could figure without losing money on the project.
